What's good: PopCap Games' phenomenal peg-blasting title is back with a vengeance! Now available on your Apple devices, Peggle retains all the brilliance of its other versions and brings players an even better experience with touch controls that are much more intuitive than its point and click counterparts. In this game, your goal is simply to take out all the orange-colored pegs given a limited number of balls using a combination of physics-savvy and, of course, luck. In Adventure Mode, you shoot your way through over forty colorful levels filled with gorgeous cartoon backgrounds, musical sounds, and a host of quirky Peggle masters (with awesome names like Bjorn Unicorn and Lord Cinderbottom), each with its own special power to help you along the way. Every stage also features different arrangements of pegs that come in four colors - blue represents standard pieces, green gives you some really cool power-ups and bonuses, purple boosts your score higher, and orange - as you should know by now - is what you need to take out. The developers have fine-tuned all the tools you need to accomplish your goal, with easy drag and tap controls to get precise angles and fire. But while the game is fairly simple and straightforward, you will never encounter a dull moment while playing, because not only will it have you strategically and literally angling for the best position to fire your ball, fun features like the moving Free Ball pot at the bottom of the screen or the Fever Meter score multiplier that steadily fills as you progress keep things interesting. There are also trophies to be earned and special style shots to discover, and what's more, you can even bounce and ricochet to your heart's delight through a host of new stages in three other game modes (Quick Play, Duel, and Challenge), adding even more value to an incredibly replayable game. With a unique concept that flawlessly combines elements from pachinko, pool, and pinball, this exciting one-of-a-kind adventure looks, sounds, and plays like nothing you have ever encountered. Don't believe us? Check it out for yourself at the AppStore for just $ 2.99 to justify all the rave reviews, and have yourself a smashing good time trying to hit Extreme Fever each time!
Suggestions for improvement: While the controls are simple and intuitive, it can still be difficult to get the exact level of precision you need for higher levels (even with the Extreme Precision wheel). We also wish there were background music, which can greatly enhance gameplay.
