What's good: Who doesn't enjoy some classic brick breaker action? Most people invariably do, and while more and more variations pop up on different gaming consoles, few notable titles have made their way to the iPhone and iPod touch platforms. Of course, leave it to the creative minds behind Alawar Entertainment to take a standard gameplay concept and jack it up to the next level! Magic Ball 2 is a fast-paced 3D block-shattering game with fun graphics, bright colors, and a whole lot of features. You are given the standard ball and paddle, but what immediately catches your attention are the piles of bricks that form gorgeous virtual structures and landscapes - an extremely creative touch that replaces the expected flat rectangular blocks and carves out a whole new dimension for the game. As if launching your ball into these carefully crafted buildings isn't satisfying enough, you will also periodically come across power-ups, weapons, and even some less than desirable objects falling from the top of the screen. While keeping an eye out for your ball, move your paddle left and right to catch fun upgrades that turn your simple ball into explosive, smashing, or hypnotic variants, increase its speed, magnetize or attach it to your bouncer bar, or split it into three. Get innovative additions to your destructive capacities like the bazooka, machine gun, and cannon that allow you to take a more active part in bringing down the solidly stacked pieces. You'll no doubt lose yourself in all the excitement, but while you're happily seizing extra lives and expectantly looking out for the medal that will send you on to the next level, don't forget to avoid paddle and ball speed decreasers as these will make it a bit more difficult (but of course not impossible) to achieve your goal quickly. In total, there are a hundred different stages, each filled with its own set of unique elements and characters that lends diversity and diversion to a smashingly fun app that's easy to pick up and hard to put down.

Suggestions for improvement: The game needs to add aspects that will increase the challenge as there is virtually none apart from missing the ball, and even this doesn't happen often since it's all really a bit too easy. Touch controls will also hopefully be revised to account for the fact that while you're moving the paddle with your finger, it inconveniently gets blocked from view.
