What's good: Tower Defense game, anyone? Now, we know this genre has plenty of fans, but at the same time, things do tend to get repetitive as more and more of the same thing get published and approved. This category needed a little innovation, and Digital Chocolate has created just the thing! If you're familiar with the recently popular PC game Plants Vs. Zombies, Dictator Defense is built on a similar concept, except you're dealing with humans. As John the Indian hero, you are responsible for protecting your people and keeping your native land safe from the hordes of bloodthirsty colonizers looking to take over your home. Position your arsenal of troops, weapons, resources, and defenses in front of your wall and brace yourself for a torrent of invaders! The fighting is mostly fixed in lanes - if you plant a soldier in the rightmost column, for example, you are only able to shoot enemies approaching the same lane. Of course, there are some units that can transcend this general rule and move from grid to grid, but that only adds to the fun of things. Throughout the game, you'll encounter a diverse set of opponents, from parachuting soldiers to heavy duty machines. Plan your arrangement carefully to defeat their relentless waves, then face off with four insanely funny caricatures of infamous dictators equipped with crazy abilities and made larger than life for added effect. If you're ever in need of assistance, simply call your hero to swoop down in a helicopter and help you win the day. The combination of serious battle proceedings with comical elements and cheerful, if militaristic, soundtracks creates an extremely engaging game that finds just the right balance. Well worth $ 2.99!

Suggestions for improvement: Consider updating with a survival mode to really challenge hardcore players.
