What's good: When you hear the name of the app, you might wonder what in the world it means, because Creople is not a dictionary term. Rather, it was creatively coined by the developers from a combination of two words - "creature" and "people." Similarly innovative, the app itself is a product of simplicity and a little imagination. It's quite basic, really - this drawing instrument creates creoples by allowing users to draw one part at a time for each of the four body divisions (head, torso, legs, and feet). You're given a few basic tools to help you create your sketches, such as brushes, a color picker, an eraser, and a gallery of pre-drawn parts that you can either insert into the picture as is or doodle over. There's also a zoom option so you can get into the details if you want to add embellishments or accessories. Obviously, there's nothing high-tech or mindblowingly amazing about it, but what really makes the difference is the fact that you can't see any of the parts except yours until everyone's done. This adds an unpredictability factor that keeps the excitement level high as users anticipate what sort of result a combination of individual doodles will yield. There's really no end to the fun because the only limit is your inventiveness, and each turn is sure to be different from the last. So if you're bored or just need a little entertainment, download this app, grab a friend or two, and get started drawing the strangest, most hilarious creatures ever. It doesn't matter whether it's in technicolor or black and white, is simple or complicated, resembles a human, an animal, or something in between - it's sure to be a barrel of laughs! (P.S. Check out the screenshot - it's one of our favorite creations so far!)
Suggestions for improvement: An essential tool that's lacking in this app is the undo button, and you should be able to swipe to view saved creoples. Apart from that, the layout of tools and features isn't very intuitive, resulting in wrong clicks that sometimes ruin the creation completely. The app could also use an online multiplayer function - imagine how much fun it would be taking turns drawing creoples with people from all over the world!

Seller: Baby Carrot Studios, LLC
Price: $ 1.99 and $ 0.99
Requirements: iPhone or iPod touch, OS 3.1 or later | OS 3.0 or later
Version: 1.0

What's good: Discover the colorful and breathtaking world of art meets casual gaming and entertainment with two of Baby Carrot Studio's latest iPhone applications, Jigsaw Kiss and Daxterpieces 2. In the first, you are tasked to solve two jigsaw puzzles using either the accelerometer or touch controls, where, on fitting everything correctly, the whole picture melts together into a hidden drawing that comes alive in a short animation. The latter is quite similar, but instead of having a single definite image to form, you are instead able to change the pieces in each slot with a tap to uncover layers of different scenes. As the gameplay is fairly basic and doesn't require much more than tapping and visualizing how things come together, both will engage you in a simple and light matter, but what is so profoundly deep and moving about these apps is the artwork. Created by artist and app developer Dax Norman, these illustrations depict a very original art style - one that makes extensive use of color and creative mixes of random elements to add up to visual masterpieces. Each drawing is contoured to fit perfectly with the edges of the puzzle shape it occupies, or it could be that the pieces were cleverly cut to accommodate each separate component. Whatever the case, everything contributes to the commendable uniqueness of the rich, mind-blowing 2D graphics, which in turn adds magic to the experience. There are no other apps quite like these, and if you're into games that are easy to pick up and play, why don't you give one or both a whirl?
Suggestions for improvement: The apps could both use a little more content. An in-game soundtrack will also make a great addition.

What's good: Are you one of those avid Happy Tree Friends fans who watch all their episodes religiously? If you are, then you've probably long been hoping to see an app on iTunes so you can experience the show's trademark 'gory humor' right from your iPhone or iPod touch. Well, the wait's over, because Publisher X has taken it upon themselves to create a hilarious entertainment mobile title based on Mondo Media's most popular series. Happy Tree Friends: Slap Happy allows you to play with the cute and sweetly innocent Cuddles in a variety of ways. Since he's all alone in a small room, he gets pretty bored and will need some attention from you. Tap to poke him and flick or shake to throw him against the four walls of your screen until he's bruised and teary eyed from the abuse, or select from a collection of deadly 'toys' to make things more exciting. You'll laugh out loud as the helpless and trusting little bunny gets drilled into a bloody half, smashed into bits by walls of spikes, or horrendously choked by a steel pipe. Of course, after that kind of treatment he'll just lie or stand immobile where you leave him, but you can always revive him with skillful CPR administration or a hearty dose of electricity. A strong shock will bring him back to life as happy and adorable as ever, so you can start the torture all over again. Anytime you're bored, or in the mood to indulge your destructive side, just pick this up and have a truly entertaining time. All in all, $ 0.99 gives you a whole lot of fiendish fun and is definitely a great price for this one-of-a-kind app!
Suggestions for improvement: We'd really like to see more of everything in future updates - more HTF characters, more interaction options, more toys, and hopefully more interesting background selections too.

What's good: Are you looking for an app that's original, entertaining, uncomplicated, and worth your money? If so, check out Balloons! The concept is simple, but we've never seen anything like it and we can bet you haven't either. Choose from several colorful balloons, snap a picture to include, add a message, and let everything float into the sky. The app uses location services to determine where you are, and allows you to track where and how long your balloon drifts! It'll keep aimlessly floating along until someone catches it in real time, but the fun doesn't end there, because you can also grab balloons from the air around your current location and even reply to people's notes and photos. Sharing thoughts, reading interesting ideas, and finding new friends have never been more fun! This is one excellent twist on social networking that combines an amazingly unique concept with realistic animations and sound effects, easily whizzing past other apps in similar categories. Take our word for it - we can guarantee that you'll be blown away!
Suggestions for improvement: Provide for attaching pictures from your albums or the camera roll to your balloon, and hopefully update to allow users to manually select balloons they want to catch.

What’s good: Is there someone you particularly hate at the moment? Act out your anger through Virtual Voodoo. Pin that cheating boyfriend’s picture to a rag doll, stick pins into it, and flick it around the screen. Its beautiful graphics and realistic physics engine will definitely make you feel a lot better.
Suggestions for improvement: More dolls and background choices and a few more ways to torture the doll should make this application an instant bestseller.

What’s good: Pocket God is an extremely fun and innovative open-ended microgame where you get to play God. Torture and kill off your vulnerable little pygmies or give them gifts to keep them happy. Direct the weather, island elements, and more using some of the most innovative controls ever to incorporate touch. Pay visits to all the available locations on the map - explore different islands or take your pygmies on an underwater adventure. If you figure out how to make them appear, you can pick fights with a host of crazy enemies - the formidable tyrannosaurus rex, laser-firing shark, barking spider (that's right, just like a dog), and ice monster. You'll also find a hundred other entertaining and mindless things to do - this includes bouncing coconuts on pygmy heads, dropping bird bombs, shark baiting, and zombie spawning. The possibilities are almost endless! With continuous updates, in-app purchasing, challenges, and contests over OpenFeint, this app will get you tapping and flicking like only the best of iPhone games can.
Suggestions for improvement: Finger controls are sometimes not as accurate as they could be, especially when moving objects (pygmies, magnifying glass, etc.) around the islands, causing them to occasionally fall into the water instead.
