What's good: Giro AppSolutions does it again with their newly released app, Tawag Pinoy. As the name indicates, this utility allows you to call Philippine networks with an interface much like the built-in address book that comes with the iPhone. What's different is that this one's tailored for Filipino users, and comes with amazingly simple yet innovative features that make calling a real pleasure. For one thing, a very handy sorting option lets you organize your contacts based on the three biggest local phone carriers - Globe, Smart, or Sun - and on phone lines. If you tap a name on your Globe list, you'll see several call choices that allow you to call regularly, per pulse, or choose between the 10 pesos/3 minute or the 20 pesos/20 minute rates. This is undoubtedly one of the most useful and inspired features of the app as it automatically adds prefixes for special calls. With this cost-cutting novelty, minimizing your phone bill is as easy as pressing a few buttons - sort contacts to find phones on your network, and decide on the rate that's most suited to your call preference and duration. Finally, in comparison to the iPhone's contacts app, this one is built with ease and practicality in mind as it comes with left and right arrows that make it a breeze to browse through your numbers as well as a quick edit button to add to or change existing information. $ 0.99 is nothing compared to the savings - with regard to both time and money - you will undoubtedly make with this priceless innovation installed on your iPhone, so grab this at the AppStore now and start exploring its productive possibilities today!

Suggestions for improvement: It would be helpful if there was an option to sort contacts by surname instead of automatically being arranged by the first letter of their contact detail. Also, we'd love to see one-tap buttons to share contact information and add contacts to lists - favorites, friends, family, etc.
