What's good: Get ready for one of the biggest treasure hunts of your life with Glu Mobile's revolutionary new search-and-collect game, 1000: Find 'Em All! The choice of name does give you an idea of what this app has to offer, but in fact there is so much more to this title than just looking for objects on your iPhone. To start things off, it should be clear that this app plays nothing like the all-too-familiar hidden object games. Instead, you are a little boy placed in a big and colorless world which you have to explore to discover collectibles. Find colorful wrapped packages scattered around the map, and along the way, give life to the world and make things beautiful again. Cross bridges, run mazes, knock on houses, open mailboxes and treasure chests, prod chickens and crabs, look inside shrubs and in between tree branches, smash hard pieces of uncut crystals, and scatter wisps of dandelion to the winds in the hopes of finding hidden presents. There are also several that are just waiting in the middle of the green fields or sitting in plain view on sandy shores, so be sure to grab those, too. Obviously, the goal is to collect a whopping one thousand items, every hundred of which fall into different categories like people, clothing, animals, legendary, big, and obscure. And like we mentioned earlier, it isn't all about searching on your game map, either. Rather, the app makes use of Google Maps and GPS to open up a whole world of possibility to players. Not limited by the parameters of the virtual world, you can instead go out into the real world and physically make yourself present wherever your screen shows gift items located in order to claim them. Apart from that, search out Gifters hanging out in public places and populated cities near where you are, and pay them a visit too because they'll help you grow your collection. Slowly fill in your gift journal as you go on an adventure that blurs the lines between virtual and real life in this truly amazing app. You'll also find yourself smiling or laughing at the random assortment of odd and sometimes completely useless things that you'll uncover, ranging from a cup of elephant dung coffee and a dubious man in a black coat to prefabulated amulite (we didn't even know what that was until now) and a sea sponge's autograph. Now if that doesn't sound like it's worth $ 2.99, then we really don't know what is!

Suggestions for improvement: The map is lovely and we really enjoy exploring it, but we feel that at times it gets a little lonely with virtually no other characters for company except for a few animals and the occasional Wanderer. It would be nice if the game world was more interactive. Other ideas for an update - top collectors (global) and mini missions that unlock more collectibles.
